This exercise involved the creation of a selection of artefacts that would summarise our understanding of a selected building. This task proved unique in the fact that we began the process in the usual way, researching and referencing written and drawing work.
The task differed as we had the added opportunity to visit the buildings and experience them with a degree of knowledge that could be questioned and expanded.

Our study of Sverre Fehn’s Hedmark Museum occurs as a pure, resolved scheme based on a clear architectural intent and strategy. The museum embodies complex interplays of architectural techniques which come together almost naturally without conflict. The building can be read an experienced as a whole however a greater understanding comes from the fragmentation and analysis of the architectural events.
